 Summary

This article will explain how to rotate an image using the image management feature of Titan CMS.

 Background

Every website contains images, and along with this fact comes the need to maintain and modify those images to display in the correct manner. The new image management component of Titan CMS makes this process easy and user-friendly, without the need for complex photo editing software. With Titan CMS you can now crop, resize, and rotate your images directly through the workstation.

 Instructions

The Titan CMS Image Editor can be accessed from multiple interfaces within Titan CMS. An image can be managed and edited from either the Freeform Block or from a File Pile location.

Rotating Using the Freeform Block

To rotate an image while authoring content in the Freeform Block, access the Image Manager as follows:

  1. For a new image, click the Insert/Edit Image button in the Freeform Block toolbar, or for an image already in the content, right click on the image and select “Image Properties” to open the Image Properties dialog.
  2. In the Image Properties dialog, select the “Edit” button below the image preview and select the “Rotate” tab of the new Image Editor.
  3. Chose one of the five rotation options available: Rotate Left/-90, Rotate 180, Rotate Right/90, Flip Vertical, Flip Horizontal.
  4. Clicking "Save As" allows you to save the new image settings without overwriting the original image.
  5. Clicking "OK" allows you to save the new images settings to the original image.
  6. Clicking "Apply" allows you to see what the image looks like with the new settings, yet still have the option to "Cancel" out of the change.
  7. Titan CMS automatically generates the new versions of the web-ready images available to use into the Freeform Block. Select the desired image size for the freeform.
  8. Update the Freeform Block, and then Save or Publish the changes to the page.

Rotating Using the File Pile

To rotate an image while managing images directly from a Doc Management File Pile, locate the image and access the Image Editor as follows:

  1. Select the image in the primary browse view.
  2. Click the “Edit Image” button.
  3. Select the “Rotate” tab in the Image Editor.
  4. Chose one of the five rotation options available: Rotate Left/-90, Rotate 180, Rotate Right/90, Flip Vertical, Flip Horizontal.
  5. Clicking "Save As" allows you to save the new image settings without overwriting the original image.
  6. Clicking "OK" allows you to save the new images settings to the original image.
  7. Clicking "Apply" allows you to see what the image looks like with the new settings, yet still have the option to "Cancel" out of the change.
  8. Save and/or Publish the image using the main toolbar in Titan CMS.
